How you can own your own without breaking the bank... 

In 1911, Orra E. Monnette compiled and produced 350 copies of the Monnet Family Genealogy: A Huguenot Lineage.  Because of the limited number of books produced, original copies of the book currently sell in the $1,000 to $10,000 range depending upon the condition of the book.

Most of the books were presented to libraries, making their sale on the open markets unlikely; those in private hands rarely are sold.  

Since launching this site, we have been contacted by several people wanting to purchase a copy of the book.  While we do not sell of nor plan to sell copies of Orra's book, several options for buying reprinted versions exist, all for under $250.  This site offers the following providers with the understanding that each is an order at you own risk and that any issues resulting in your purchase must be resolved and handled between you and the seller: 

OPTION 1: The Higginson Book Company (Salem Massachusetts) has reproduced the Monnett Family Genealogy in hard cover  and softbound.  I have purchased a hard cover version from them slated for donation to a local library and recommend the hardcover version.  Printed on acid free archival safe paper. It should be noted that the photographs from the book are dark in this volume.

OPTION 2: Quintin Publications (Pawtucket Rhode Island) has reproduced the Monnett Family Genealogy in book and CD-ROM format.  I have not seen their copy of the book, however I have seen other books offered by this company and they are equal to that of Higginson.

OPTION 3: Family Tree Maker (Broderbund Software) has captured pages from the Monnet Family Genealogy in the Family Tree Maker series "County and Family Histories: Pennsylvania, 1740-1900" (CD# 193).  These CD's come on on eBay with great frequency and sells about $10-$20 per auction HOWEVER working with these images is difficult.  If you do decide and go this way, also be advised that the text is not easy to read.
